Swine flu case detected in Thane

A 51-year-old resident of the upscale Siddhachal complex tested positive for the deadly swine flu, according to health officials of the Thane municipal corporation.

THANE: A 51-year-old resident of the upscale Siddhachal complex tested positive for the deadly swine flu, according to health officials of the Thane municipal corporation.
The infected person is said to have travelled to Jodhpur on January 25 and health officials here claimed that he could have been infected with the H1N1 virus in the desert city.
TMCs health officer Dr RT Kendre said the infected person complained of body aches and suffered from cough and fever. He was taken to a private hospital in the close vicinity where the doctors diagnosed him for bird flu.
Dr Kendre said the patient has been moved to another hospital and his condition is said to be stable.
